With which countries does a double taxation agreement help?

Answer

Turkey has double taxation agreements with Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The common principle: rental income and sale gains from property in Turkey are addressed first in Turkey. The country of residence then applies a tax credit or an exemption with progression. Withholding and filing rules vary by country.

A Dutch resident should not copy the German progression rule. A tax adviser at home is essential.
