How do earthquake risk and DASK affect a foreign buyer?

Answer

DASK is the compulsory earthquake insurance required for the title deed; it is not comprehensive cover. The building's year, ground conditions, applicable building code and any retrofitting of the complex must be assessed separately. “There's DASK, so the risk is gone” is wrong.

A buyer from Sweden should not equate their home insurance at home with DASK. Contents, liability and extended earthquake cover require additional policies.

İnterkon Realty Group completes DASK on the title deed day, but it does not close the building-risk question with “it's insured”. Ask about the ground and the construction year.
