Does Turkish tenancy law protect tenants as much as in Northern Europe?

Answer

Tenant protection exists, but it is not the same as the rent-increase and eviction regimes in Sweden or the Netherlands. If the contract, inventory, deposit and intended use are not written down, both landlord and tenant lose out.

A landlord from the Netherlands looks for “regulated rent and a points system”. In Turkey, the real leverage is a written contract and disciplined follow-up.
