Can I buy a home in Konya from abroad with a power of attorney?
Answer
Yes. The power of attorney is issued at a Turkish consulate or through a notary with an apostille. The original text should be in Turkish, and the authority should be narrow and explicit: title transfer, fees, DASK, DAB, secure payment and, if needed, rental management.
It is close to the French procuration culture. A broad power of attorney saying “they can do everything” dangerously inflates authority over the price and over selling.
İnterkon Realty Group recommends that the draft describes the transfer of the parcel you have chosen, not a general authority to sell.
